What happened to cookies made with love?

A mother and daughter preparing Home Dough cookies
Do you remember those days when we used to gather in the kitchen, armed with aprons and flour-dusted hands, to whip up the most delightful homemade cookies? Those moments are etched in my heart, a treasure trove of joy, laughter, and mouthwatering aromas.

As life has grown busier and our schedules more demanding, it's regrettable that these precious moments have become a rarity. The act of mixing ingredients and the anticipation of that first warm, gooey bite used to be a special bonding ritual. However, it seems that the convenience of store-bought cookies has slowly taken over, and it's disheartening to see the decline in quality.

These days, it's difficult to ignore the glaring truth about the cookies lining the store shelves. They are often filled with cheaper substitutes, artificial additives, and the unmistakable stamp of factory production. Gone are the authentic flavors and the love-infused touch that we used to pour into each batch.

While our lives may have become more fast-paced and demanding, I can't help but feel a tinge of nostalgia for those days. I believe that we should make an effort to reclaim those moments whenever possible, to revisit the kitchen, and rekindle the sensation of fresh baked cookies filling the kitchen and watching the cookie dough puff up and take shape in the oven.ย

I created Home Dough to relive those fond memories of pulling fresh baked cookies out of the oven without having to make the dough from scratch.ย  Despite our busy lives, I believe the joy of sharing a warm, homemade cookie that's been baked with care and genuine ingredients is an experience that's worth preserving.
